Life in LA LA Land

Admittedly, my absence from blogging has been severe.  Please accept my apology for neglecting those of you who are curious about life in Los Angeles.  Needless to say, I have plenty to talk about.  I am currently living in a house for five about 12 miles east of Downtown LA.  The town I'm in is just remote enough to give me the illusion that I am not in fact just miles away from the entertainment capitol of the world.  There are well manicured lawns, plenty of parking spaces and tall white trees that look like they are strait out of a Dr. Seuss book.  There is a lovely and long jogging path, clear of the appearance of cars or even buildings.  I am only a few miles from a great little mountain for hiking, and I have a cozy little bedroom to snuggle up in.  I feel right at home.

Despite my reprieve from the city, I have had the joy of spending loads of time in downtown Hollywood.  I have been attending a church in Hollywood called Reality LA.  I have also met some amazing people from this fellowship.  A very diverse group of twenty something professionals who love Jesus.  Crazy how He can unite even the most diverse group of people in such a powerful and concrete way.  I have friends to play with, pray with and be challenged by.  We hang out at late night establishments (namely, In-N-Out) until the wee hours of the morning.  Only God could know that this community would be here ready to invite me into the fold.

In other news, I am currently building a student body of voice and piano students and working as a character for children's parties on the weekends.  I am collaborating with some other musicians for playing gigs, and have a list of venues to pursue.  Hopefully I will be posting new videos and photos from these concerts soon!  I am still writing new songs (I may even post a rough or two just for fun).  There is also plenty of swing dancing in LA and Pasadena and I make it to the dance clubs once or twice a week.

I miss you all daily.  I miss my home church, my girls group, my small group, my adorable nieces and nephews.  There are many amazing blessings I had to let go of to be here, but my hands and heart have been filled with blessings beyond my expectations.  I can't wait to visit in the summer, but I do know that I'm where I'm meant to be.  Thank you for your love and support, and I will try very hard to blog again soon.

  All my love!
